Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certify that this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

This letter is requesting the renewal of permit No. 42666, which was issued on 9/18/07. Due to
scheduling conflicts this project was delayed. The project has been reinitiated and scheduled to take place
some time after July 2009
The NCDOT is requesting the issuance of a general permit .2300 for the replacement of bridge # 51 on
SR 1121 in Tyrrell County. This bridge is a wooden bridge on wood pilings that has deteriorated beyond
allowable usage. The bridge is currently closed. The existing 20 ` X 46 ` structure will be replaced in -kind
on the same alignment. The new bridge will have steel H-piles and bents, with timber joist and deck boards.
The number of bents will remain the same. This project as proposed will not impact and wetland or surface
waters. The PCN, location maps and permit drawings are included with this letter. The WBS element
number for this permit is 1B.208914.2. Included with this request are the MP-1, MP-5 forms, location
map, landowner notifications, and permit drawings depicting the proposed work. If any additional
