above is hereby certified as exempt from the CAMA permit re-
quirement pursuant to 15 NCAC 7K .0203. This exemption to
CAMA permit requirements does not alleviate the necessity of
your obtaining any other State, Federal, or Local authorization.

This certification of exemption from requiring a CAMA permit is
valid for 60 days from the date of issuance. Following expiration,
a re-examination of the project and project site may be necessary
to continue this certification.

Any person who proceeds with a development without the con-
sent of a CAMA official under the mistaken assumption that the
development is exempted, will be in violation of the CAMA if there
is a subsequent determination that a permit was required for the
0velopm ent.
The applicant certifies by signing this exemption that (1) the ap-
plicant has read and will abide by the conditions of this exemp-
tion, and (2) a written statement has been obtained from adjacent
landowners certifying that they have no objections to the
proposed work.

Reference: 1. Certificate of Exemption From CAMA Permit dated 18 July 94
Dear Mr. Mercer:
Per our conversation this morning, I am requesting an extension of the above
referenced permit for 90 days. The contractor whom I have employed to do the
work of clearing the land and doing the fill modification for the septic system,
Sunland Development Co., has advised me that due to their work schedule that
they will not be able to start work prior to the permit expiration date of 14 Oct. 94.
The scope of the work will not change and shall be in accordance with the
current permit which includes Wayne Ragland's plot layout dated 5/23/94 and
certified 7/11/94, Town of Cape Carteret zoning variance dated 18 July 94, and
the Carteret County Health Dept. fill modification sheet dated 5-31-94. There will
be no land disturbance within a 40 ft. zone extending from the mean high water
mark to the lot interior along the shoreline on Bogue Sound as stated in the
original permit.
