The proposed project to be located and constructed as described
above is hereby certified as exempt from the CAMA permit re-
quirement pursuant to 15 NCAC 7K .0203. This exemption to
CAMA permit requirements does not alleviate the necessity of
your obtaining any other State, Federal, or Local authorization.
SKETCH
Any person who proceeds with a development without the con-
sent of a CAMA official under the mistaken assumption that the
development is exempted, will be in violation of the CAMA if there
is a subsequent determination that a permit was required for the
development.
We applicant certifies by signing this exemption that (1) the ap-
plicant has read and will abide by the conditions of this exemp-
tion, and (2) a written statement has been obtained from adjacent
landowners certifying that they have no objections to the
proposed work.
This certification of exemption from requiring a CAMA permit is
valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. Following expiration,
a re-examination of the project and project site may be necessary
to continue this certification.

bulkhead on Deer Creek, at Lot #72 and #73, off Bogue Sound Drive, in Cape Carteret, Carteret
County, NC.
In order to validate this permit, please sign all three (3) copies as indicated. Retain the
yellow copy and the attached regulation (7K .0203) for your files and return the blue and green
signed copies to us in the enclosed, self-addressed envelope.

i hereby certify that I own property, lot no's. 70 and 71, adjacent to James M.
Lamb property located at lots 72 and 73 Bayshore Park Block A on Bogue
Sound Dr. on Bogue Sound in Cape Carteret, N.C. He has described to me as
indicated on the marked -up plot plan dated 1-5-95 the development he is
proposing at that location and I have no objections to his proposal.
Description and/or drawing of proposed development:
Approximately 50 ft. of marine grade wooden bulkhead is to be placed along the
South side of my lot adjacent to Bogue Sound that will tie into the canal bulkhead
that is being built by Art Clark. This is to prevent erosion of the point of land on
my property at the mouth of the canal. It will be constructed as depicted on the
marked -up plot plan dated 1-5-94.

Dear Mr. Mercer:
I am requesting that a certificate of exemption for a CAMA permit be issued for
the construction of approximately 50' of marine bulkheading along the South side
of my lot on Bogue Sound Dr., Cape Carteret, N.C. This seawall will tie into that
being built by Art Clark as part of the canal improvement project under CAMA
permit 132-94. The attached marked -up plot plan dated 1-5-95 depicts the area
where the seawall is to be constructed. The purpose of the seawall is to prevent
erosion to the mouth of the boat canal on my property. The seawall will be built
of the same type materials being used on the canal bulkheading.
I have obtained statements of rc objection, from the reparlan property owners
and they are attached. Scott Grafton the contractor for the canal project will act
as my representative when you visit the site to stake out the area. He is also
authorized to sign the exemption certificate for me. He can be reached at 919-
393-6137 to set-up a time to meet you at the site. If you have any questions
