This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site
drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine,
imprisonment or civil action; and may cause the permit to be-
come null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the
permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance.
The applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) this pro-
dfs consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ances, and 2) a written statement has been obtained from
adjacent riparian landowners certifying that they have no
objections to the proposed work.
In issuing this permit the State of North Carolina certifies that
this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal
Management Program.

of a pier with mooring pilings and to perform maintenance excavation at his property located
at Lot ##43 in Dolphin Point Subdivision, off Pierces Creek and Bonito Channel, in Oriental,
Pamlico County.
In order to validate this permit, please sign all three (3) copies as indicated. Retain the
white copy for your files and return the yellow and pink signed copies to us in the enclosed,
self-addressed envelope.

SUBJECT: General Permit for Maintenance Excavation in Bonito Channel, Pierce Creek,
Pamlico County
I spoke today with David Simpson who further clarified his request to excavate a 15'
by 80' area at the site of the proposed Edward F. Bliss pier. A condition of the general
permit (T 15A:07H. 1500) is that excavation be within existing canals for the purpose of
monitoring previous water depths. Mr. Simpson indicated he can provide a previous permit
number that can then be checked to verify this request is "maintenance" dredging.
The Division of Marine Fisheries has not objection to the dredging as long as the
following conditions are met:
1. It is, in fact, maintenance dredging;
2. The spoil be placed on high ground with proper erosion and sedimentation
controls.
3. A construction moratorium from March -September be imposed to limit impacts
in the primary nursery area.
