Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certify that this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

Dear Neighbor:
As a requirement of CAMA it is my responsibility to discuss with you any modifications
to my existing pier and get your written approval as part of the permitting process. The
process also requires that I provide you with a written description which is the purpose of
this letter.
Currently my pier is about 130' long and 5' wide, without electricity or boat lift.
The depth of water at the end at low tide is approximately 12-14".
I have recently invested in a boat and would like to extend the pier out to deeper water
hoping to get about 24" of depth at low tide.
As you already know there are several piers and or jut outs that reach further out from the
shoreline than my existing pier. CAMA will allow me extend my pier if so desired to
equal those of my surrounding neighbors; however, it is not my intention to reach that far
out from the shoreline. My plans are to extend the pier another 100-120' and install one
boat lift with electricity and water. The pier width will be 5' and most likely have a
wider section at the end around 10' to safely access and maintain my boat.
I am told that the neighboring piers are in excess of 300' if that estimate is close to being
correct, my proposed pier length would still be less than those.
