Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certify that this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

Thanks for the call and the update this morning.

I think Heather may have explained this to you, but if we can declare and make the current slips in the basin into one slip,
by combining them, we can then use the general permit and apply for the additional slip to be added to the pier. By
combining the current slips into one, and by adding another slip to the pier, we would only be at two slips total, which is
allowed under the general permit. If you agree to this plan as our HOA president, please respond back to Heather and
confirm that you are ok to combine the current basin slips into one and approval to apply for the additional slip with the
building of the pier.

Hello Heather:
I am writing in regards to the permit I requested for 134 Water Lane, Newport, NC 28570. As discussed, I now
understand the rules for the number of boat slips allowed under the genral permit guidelines and wish to proceed with the
pier and observation decking only. I can confirm that I will remove the plans for an additional boat slip/lift and seek
approval for the pier only, per the picture already submitted.
I am also granting authority for you to return the permit to Bob Oliver as I will be travelling out of the country on a business
trip over the next two weeks. As acting president of the HOA, Bob can also provide his approval of the change to build the
pier only, without the boat slip.
Bob, please respond to Heather declaring that you are the acting president our our said HOA and that you approve the
change in plans to build the pier only.
