The purpose of this project is to replace the existing failed pipes on NC 12 and restore safe travel on the NC 12 corridor.

Methods of construction will follow NCDOT guidelines for pipe replacements, We will utilize NCDOT Best Management
Practices for erosion and sediment control. A tracked excavator, backhoe, and dump truck will be used during construction.

Replace existing failed pipes 2 @ 70' x 36" Corrugated Metal Pipe with 2 @ 70' x 48" Corrugated Aluminum pipe. They will
be replaced as shown on the attached permit drawings. Once the pipes are in place the asphalt road surface will be restored.

Our county maintenance engineer spoke with one of the adjacent property owners (Mrs. Davis)
last week about the pipe replacement. She has no concerns. The other property owner (Mrs.
Pagan) was not able to be contacted, but we did try to find her number through the tax office
(listed as a Greenville address), which was unsuccessful.
