Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certify that this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

Dear Ms. Styron:
On behalf of the Town of Morehead City, this letter is to request that DCM grant the Town a CAMA
General Permit for the referenced project. Enclosed is a check for the additional $100 required for the $200
application fee.
A general permit is requested for the addition of 8 temporary boat slips for the Morehead City Family
Boating and In -Water Boat Show, 15-17 May 2009. The requested temporary floating docks will be
removed no more than 14 days after installation.
The drawings have been revised to reflect the changes and are attached. Additionally, the appropriate
riparian property owners have been notified and their riparian owner statements are attached.
Your attention to this matter at your earliest convenience is appreciated. If it becomes necessary or
advisable, we would be glad to meet with DCM staff to discuss this permit request.

Downtown Morehead City Revitalization Association and Morehead City request approval of the
following modification to CAMA permit #132-07. In partnership with Downtown Morehead City
Revitalization Association, Morehead City has applied for a modification for CAMA Major Permit
# 132-07. The permit modification requests to temporarily add 8 floating docks to be used for
Downtown Morehead City Revitalization Association's Family Boating and In -water Boat Show
on May 15, 16, & 17, 2008.
In order to accommodate more boats in -water, we are seeking approval from NC Division of
Coastal Management (DCM), the US Coast Guard and adjacent riparian rights owners of our
request to add the 8 temporary floating docks to the ten Morehead City docks for the Boat
Show.
Provided DCM, US Coast Guard, and adjacent property owners agree, we will install the
temporary docks on or about May 12 and remove them within 14 days.
DMCRA is a 5.01c3 nonprofit and has event insurance that our agent, Goodwin and Associates,
assures us will cover the event.
Last year's Morehead City Family Boating and In -Water Boat Show was a big success. Thank

PROJECT NARRATIVE

INTRODUCTION
The Town of Morehead City proposes to install 8 temporary floating docks to be
attached to the ten permanent floating boat slips permitted on 21 April 2008. The
requested temporary floating docks will be installed on or about May 12, 2009 and will
be removed by May 23, 2009; a total time period not to exceed 14 days. The requested
temporary floating docks will be used to provide additional dock space for the Morehead
City Family Boating and In -Water Boat Show to take place May 15 — May 17, 2009.
The requested temporary docks will supplement the already permitted docks for a static
display of power boats during a full weekend of family -oriented activities. Exhibitors on
dry land will showcase all marine products and services. The US Coast Guard Auxiliary
will participate with exhibits, programs, and activities to help keep boating families safe.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The requested temporary floating docks will be attached to the ten permanent floating
docks to be constructed with US Fish & Wildlife Boating Infrastructure Grant funds. No
additional dredging will be performed.
COMPLIANCE WITH TOWN OF MOREHEAD CITY ZONING AND CAMA LAND USE
PLAN
The project is in compliance with Town of Morehead City zoning and CAMA Land Use
Plan. A zoning compliance letter from the town of Morehead City is attached.
COMPLIANCE WITH THE N. C. ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY ACT
There is no work proposed on the site that will require review under the N. C.
Environmental Policy Act. The funding mechanism for the project has not been
determined. It will probably consist of a combination of public and private funds.
