Hwy. 24, at the Flying Bridge Restaurant and Marina, on the AIWW, at Cedar Point, Carteret
County.

Ref. Bogue Inlet Boatominium Channel Maintenance Dredging
Dear Jim
As indicated to you by phone today, our dredger [ Dick Dolgas ] was unable
to do the maintenance dredging of our channel within the timing of General Permit
#C-12140 .
The inlet to our marina has filled in over the last ten years and requires about 3' of
sand to be removed in an area 20' wide by 40' long. The total volume to be removed is
approximately 90 cubic yards. We have again reviewed the dredging plans with the
property owners on each side of the area to be dredged and had them resign the
approvals .
Present plans for handling the dredged material is to barge and off load it on marina
land and then transport it to behind Ms. Herring's house. I have sketched in Ms. Herring's
house [where the major portion of the dredged material will end up] on a small map of the
area. Also shown is the area to be dredged. Approximately 80% of the material will end
up on Ms. Herring's land and 20% at our marina to fill low spots around the seawall.
After many delays, Mr.Dick Dolgas of Atlantic Beach is expected to start dredging
after the July 4th. holiday . We are anxious to complete the project and would appreciate
your help in expediting a new permit.
