Thursday, July 22 through Saturday, July 24 and Monday, July 26 515 Caswell Beach Road, Caswell Beach, NC Coordinating with owner and Caswell Beach officials This is a private residence on the beach at Caswell. There is a broad stretch of dune between the house and the water, and we have three scenes that play here. (Photocopies of location enclosed) A. In general, we would like to add several tall standing bushes to block houses of an inappropriate period from our view. These bushes would be free standing on crosshatched wooden stands, much like old style Christmas tree stands. Their approximate position is marked on diagram. B. We are removing a collapsed structure from the end of the house's pathway to the ocean. Marked on diagram. C. We would erect scaffolding against the south face of the house, and about twenty feet from the north face of the house, parallel to the house. Marked on diagram. D. In one scene, three actors are crossing through the dunes toward the house. The camera would be on a tripod, and any lights or reflectors would be on stands. Camera placements and the path of the actors marked on diagram. Photos of this area are included. E. In another scene, an actor wakes up in the dunes. To protect the foliage, we would like to spread out an air mattress or, more likely, a layer of foam rubber. This would then be covered by a thin layer of sand, which we will bring in from elsewhere, and that in turn covered by a blanket. The actor would then be laying on this blanket, wake up, and cross to the house. Again, the camera would be placed on a tripod, and any lights or reflectors would be on stands. See diagram. Photos of this area are included. F. In yet another scene, we wish to move our camera from left to right across the walkway which extends from the house to the dunes. We would roll the dolly itself into place along the existing wooden walkway. The dolly track would bridge two apple boxes, and the apple boxes would be the only contact point with the sand. The placement of the track and dolly is marked on the diagram, and photos are enclosed. G. Finally, while filming on the beach, we would like to thicken the existing growth along the line between the beach and the dunes. We would do this by adding several clumps of grass. These clumps would, much like the bushes mentioned above, be on small wooden stands that would simply sit on the sand. 515 Caswell Beach Road, CasA,,el I Beach 'T ..r T T T -7 T T r T T 77: - .
