Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certifythat this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

Attached is a copy of the plat for our lot with 2 boat slips superimposed on the drawing
and a form required by CAMA to be signed by the adjoining property owners. The
purpose of the form is to provide you with a formal notification that we are proposing to
build the slips. Also, since we are planning to build the slips approximately I Oft from
our property line with the HRPO property, a waiver of the 15 ft minimum setback
requirement by CAMA is requested. The 10 ft spacing will allow us to put the slips just
a little bit further away from the North River and provide a little more protection from
storm activity.
As you probably know, there is a 30 ft easement on our property to allow the Association
to do periodic maintenance such as ,dredging in the canal. The easement specifically
provides for the flexibility to build the boat slips but the 30 ft clearance now drawn along
the edge of the canal will simply run around the slips.
Sue -Carol and I will be in Beaufort for several days next week (April 301h — May 4`h) and
look forward to discussing our proposal with you if you have questions. Please sign the
form, including the waiver, and give back to me next week after we've had a chance to
talk about it. I will submit the forms with our proposal, including detailed drawings of
the slips, to CAMA for their approval. It's anybody's guess when we might get that
approval and actually get the work done.
