Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certifythatthis project is consistentwith the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

I apologize I wasn't able to respond very well to your call this morning relating to our dock addition. I was on
the cell phone and dealing with rush hour traffic in Raleigh.
At any rate, I looked over my materials on this project, and remembered that, over the last year, I had taken
many soundings from my kayak at the point in the water where I projected the dock extension would reach, at
both high and low tides, for comparison's sake. These were just canoe paddle measurements but, frankly,
along the south side of Queen's Creek at this point, there is not much depth variation over fairly large areas -
and those variations are in inches not feet.
Based on this, I can same with confidence that the average low tide depth at a point approximately 50 feet out
from the end of our present dock is 1 to 1 '/2 feet. Our 15' Whaler draws 8-9 ", and our hope was that, with the
dock extension, we could float the craft to deeper water during average, but not extra low, tide conditions.
Please let me know if this statement/certification isn't sufficient for your purposes.
