Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certify thatthis project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

have a photo of our lot (Lot 18) that I will send you via mail. We will also include a copy of
ie drawing, plat, and a view from topozone. The photo shows the view of the marsh and
erring Pond Creek from our lot. There are 2 pines, which are at the marsh line, this is where
,e want to start the dock. My brother (Jim) was at my Dad's house in Beaufort last night, so I
sked him to go out this morning and mark these 2 trees with surveyors tape as well as one
ee on each side of the property line.

I tried to get directions from Mapquest to send you, but that site does not always give the best
or correct route. It would have had you going down some back roads that wouldn't have
gotten you there.
Best route is to take Hwy 70 East. When you reach the intersection of Hwy 70 East and
Merrimom Road at East Cartert High School continue straight on Merrimom Road instead of
turning right on Hwy 70E. Continue on Merrimom Road passing through the community of
North River for approximately 10 miles, you will also pass Open Grounds Farm on your
right, until you come to a split in the road, you will see the Methodist Church directly in front of
you. Continue to the right on South River Rd for approx 3 miles. You will see the Sandy Point
sign on your left, turn here and proceed on Sandy Point Drive for approximately 1/2 mile and
stop at Lot 18 on your right. If you pass Herring Pond Ct you have gone too far. We have a
riveway with a chain across it. My Dad has a key as well as Gene August the HOA president
located at 144 Herring Pond Ct, just around the corner from our lot.
We appreciate your prompt response and look forward to working with you. I may be able to
be in town around the 18th of Sep dependent on approval of adjacent property owners and
HOA architectural committee and some work my cousin wants me to help him with in Florida.
As soon as we get a response on approvals I will let you know so you can arrange for the
permits and materials.
