Dear Ms. Royal:
Resources -
William G. Ross Jr., Secretary
0 C i 2 2 2003
This letter is in response to your correspondence received by the Division of Coastal
Management on September 24, 2003, regarding your concerns about the proposal by Mr. John
Angermeyer to construct a bulkhead, adjacent to the Cape Fear River, at 232 River Drive in
Southport, in Brunswick County. The project consists of installing a vertical bulkhead. The
proposed project has been determined to comply with the Rules of the Coastal Resources
Commission (15A NCAC 7H. 1100), and as such, a permit has been issued to authorize the
development. I have enclosed a copy of the permit, as well as, the relevant statutes.
If you wish to contest our decision to issue this permit, you may file a request for a Third
Party Hearing. The request for a hearing will be considered by the Chairman of the Coastal
Resources Commission. The hearing request must be filed with the Director, Division of Coastal
Management in writing and must be received within twenty (20) days after the disputed permit
decision is made. I have enclosed the applicable forms and instructions that must be filed prior
to that deadline. Please contact me at (910) 395-3900, if you have any questions, or if I can
provide any additional information.
Sincerely,
UJim Greg song 'J
