and attached general and specific conditions. Any violation of these terms
may subject the permittee to a fine, imprisonment or civil action; and
may cause the permit to become null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit of-
ficer when the project is inspected for compliance. The applicant certi-
fies by signing this permit that 1) this project is consistent with the local
land use plan and all local ordinances, and 2) a written statement has
been obtained from adjacent riparian landowners certifying that they
have no objections to the proposed work.
In issuing this permit the State of North Carolina certifies that this project
is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

Subject: Sandy Grove Lot 9 Rip -rap
I looked at lots 7,8 and 9 for a year before the purchase was made of Lot 8. According to Mr.
Suitt's Plot Plan for Sandy Grove the acreage for the lots were as follow:

The purchase was delayed because I wanted to see and walk the lots under all possible
conditions. Only the 3 mentioned above were considered.
Lot 7 has the problem with locating a house. There are a number of ponds and wet land areas.
Lot 9 had two potential problems: erosion and a possible sub -division in the adjacent property.
Someone had installed a barrier in the river near the shore between Lot 9 and the next property
further East toward Coaches Creek. When Lot 9 was sold the decision was made for me.
Both Floyd Suitt and Scott Baggie, surveyors, suggest the water frontages noted above are good
approximations. Your proposed the addition of 100 feet rip -rap on the beach at the East end of
Lot 9 and toward Coaches Creek won't come close to the 15 foot set -back between property lines
of Lots 8 and 9 several hundred feet West. There is no need for my approval or rejection.
