This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certifythatthis project is consistentwith the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

Any alteration of deviation from the above specifications involving extra cost will be
executed only upon written order, and will become an extra charge over and above the

Through our coordination with the N. C. Division of Coastal
!Management we have learned of your plans to construct a 75-foot
bulkhead along the alignment staked by Mr. James Mercer at your
property located oa lot No. E, Block 23, Bogue Sound at Landing
Court, Emerald Isle, Carteret County, North Caroliva.
On December 2, 1982, we issued general permit No.
SAgCO78 N-025-0080 (enclosed) that authorizes the ZAince>aanee,
repair, construction, and backfill of bulicheads, and the
placement of riprap material along eroding shorelines in North
Carolina.
Your proposed work is authorized if you can Comply With all
permit conditions, please read the enclosed permit to prevent an
unintentional violation of Federal lav, A Department of ehe Army
general permit does not relieve you of the responsibility to
obtain any required State of local approval.
