SUBJECT: Pamlico County, Replacement of Bridge No. 56 over Beard Creek
Dear Mr. Arrington:
The North Carolina Department of Transportation is planning to replace bridge No. 56 in
Pamlico County. Bridge No. 56 is located on SR 1115 approximately 0.3 miles northeast
of SR 1005 and is a tributary to the Neuse River in the Neuse River Basin. The
deteriorated condition of Bridge No. 56 necessitates replacement.
Bridge No. 56 is a timber bridge built in 1955. The NCDOT proposes to replace bridge
56 at the existing location with a 60' prestressed cored slab. All construction will be
contained within the existing roadway section. No wetlands will be impacted by this
project. Construction will begin as soon as all permits are received and will last
approximately five weeks.
Please find attached the permit drawings and adjacent property owners for the proposed
work. The NCDOT requests that a CAMA General Permit authorize this project.
If you have any questions or would like additional information, please don't hesitate to
call.
Sincerely,
Jay B. Jo son

Dear Mr.
If you have any questions or would like additional information, please don't hesitate to
call.
Sincerely,
Jay B.Jo son
