SUBJECT: Culverts replacements on SR 1607
Carteret County
Dear Jay,
Bill Arrington and I, representing the Division of Coastal Management, recently
visited the two proposed culvert replacements off SR 1607 in Carteret County north of
Cape Carteret. The southern most culvert did require a general permit which is attached.
This permit needs to be signed and the pink and yellow copies returned in the addressed
envelope. Please take a close look at the dimensions drawn on the permit and additional
conditions and if any questions, please call the Morehead City Office.
The northern most culvert replacement along SR 1607, referred as culvert # I in
your application, did not require a permit from the Division. The project was outside any
jurisdiction regulated by the Division of Coastal Management. This does not imply that
no permits are needed by other State or Federal Agencies. Before initiation of the project
please identify and secure proper authorization from the appropriate agency. The
application packet associated with the culvert #1 replacement along SR 1607 is being
returned to you in its entirety.
