This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site
drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine,
imprisonment or civil action; and may cause the permit to be-
come null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the
permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance.
The applicant certifies by signing this permit that 1) this pro-
iis consistent with the local land use plan and all local
nances, and 2) a written statement has been obtained from
adjacent riparian landowners certifying that they have no
objections to the proposed work.

We have received the information submitted to this office in your inquiry
concerning the necessity of filing an application for a minor development permit under
the Coastal Area Management Act. The activity you propose is exempt from needing a
minor development permit as long as it meets the conditions specified below. If your
plans should change and your project will no longer meet those conditions please
contact me before proceeding.
DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY AND CONDITIONS:
1) Project involves construction of a pier (per attached drawing). The pier
may not exceed the length of other piers in the area.
2) Pier must be elevated over the wetlands and not extend past four foot
depth at mean low water.
3) No land disturbance except in immediate vicinity of construction
4) No enclosed structures are allowed to be located on the structure.

I hereby certify that the Town of Morehead City owns property adjacent to Cecil and
Linda Sewell's property located at 2203C Evans Street (lot 2 and west 1/2 of 16, block 45) on
Bogue Sound in the Town of Morehead City, North Carolina. The Sewell's have submitted a
diagram of their proposal for a pier at that location which has been reviewed and the Town of
Morehead City has no objections to this proposal. (Drawing attached as part of
correspondence.)
