Box 769 Morehead City, NC 28557 Dear Mr. Mercer: Enclosed is a check for S50.00 for a permit to extend granite aggregate at the base of my existing seawall at my residence in Pine Knoll Shores, Carteret County, per the enclosed sketch. The existing aggregate was placed under a permit from your office approximately 8 years ago. At that time, the Easterly portion had a healthy growth of marsh grass planted as an erosion experiment by the department of civil engineering at NC State university. Unfortunately, the grass at the base of the seawall at my property has eroded. I plan to add the aggregate in this eroded area; 30 feet between the existing dock and the East property line. At this time, the probable contractor to perform the work is Chadwick Construction of Morehead, N.C. Enclosed are signatures of property owners to my East and West agreeing to the proposed work.
