Please consider this letter and the appended drawing and
consent forms to represent an application for approval of a
project for riprap addition to an existing bulkhead under a CAMA
General Permit. Mr Charles Jones of your office came out to
inspect this property for the purpose of this request on 21
November 1994.
I propose to add riprap in front of an existing bulkhead so
as to completely front both of my lots (#W-38 and #W-39) along
Bogue Sound in Pine Knoll Shores. Riprap was already added in
1989 along approx. 85 feet of lot #W-38, leaving me approx. 115
feet of addition to complete fronting the bulkhead along both
lots. I propose to do this by adding granite extending out 5
feet from the toe of the bulkhead and upwards 5 feet from the
base of the sediments. Please see the attached drawing for
further details.
Thank you for your courteous help with my serious estuarine
shoreline erosion problems.
