C. 28557 Re: Permit Application Ms. Tere Barrett: We here with request a general permit to construct a bridge over little youpon creek, as we discussed in our meeting with you on Feb. 22,2000. The bridge will be 12 ft wide and 145 ft long, and will be constructed of wood piles and wood deck. The construction process will utilize a crane working on top of the bridge and we will build as we go. We will not need a work channel, nor will we need a roadway or mat system in the marsliland. All equipment will be on top of the bridge. We here with enclose signed letters from the riparian landowners showing that they have no objection to the construction. We here with enclose drawings giving the details of the bridge, (height, width, length, and data on the existing conditions of the creek size, water depths, and grass locations) Also, we here with enclose a check for $158.961or the permit fee. Durham, N.C. 27704 Re: Replacement of Bridge over Youpon Creek Dear Mr. Carr: Our bridge over Youpon creek, in Queens Creek, has suffered extensive damage from the hurricanes over the past 20 years, and can not be used by fire trucks, or rescue squad vehicles. In fact it is unsafe for vehicular traffic. We are proposing to remove the old structure and replace it with a new wood bridge that will give its access to our home and also allow emergency vehicles access when necessary. We herewith enclose a drawing showing the type of bridge that we are proposing. The bridge will be 12 ft. wide and 144 ft. long. We request you, an adjacent riparian property owner, to advise if you have any objection to the proposed work. Please sign on one of the following lines showing your approval or disapproval of this constriction.
