valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. Following expiration,
a re-examination of the project and project site may be necessary
to continue this certification.

Any person who proceeds with a development without the con-
sent of a CAMA official under the mistaken assumption that the
development is exempted, will be in violation of the CAMA if there
is a subsequent determination that a permit was required for the
development.
The applicant certifies by signing this exemption that (1) the ap-
plicant has read and will abide by the conditions of this exemp-
tion, and (2) a written statement has been obtained from adjacent
landowners certifying that they have no objections to the
proposed work.

Dear Ms Wheeler
Thank you for forwarding the Certificate of Exemption for the CAMA permit for our 120
Stillwood Court property in the River Bluff Subdivision. As you requested my wife and I
have signed the two copies and they are included with this letter. Your letter indicated
that a regulation (7K .0203) was included but no regulation was attached. If this
regulation is pertinent I would appreciate it if you would provide me a copy at your
convenience.
I note that your sketch of the bulkhead wall shows the face of the bulkhead aligned with
the face of the timber bulkhead that currently exists on the property immediately
upstream. Is there any problem if the wall is transitioned from the same corner of the
timber wall and set further back from the NWL approximately 6 — 8 feet? The offset
would facilitate a smooth connection with the bulkhead that is planned for construction
on the property immediately downstream and the existing bulkhead two properties
downstream. Please let me know. If this presents difficulties I will conform to the
provisions of the Exemption Certificate.

Attached is a Certificate of Exemption From Requiring a CAMA Permit to install +/- 130' of rip
rap landward of the normal water level alignment as staked in Craven County at Lot # 3, 120 Still
Wood Court, in River Bluff Subdivision on the Neuse River off US Highway 70 near New Bern.
In order to validate this permit, please sign all three (3) copies as indicated. Retain the yellow
copy and the attached regulation (7K .0203) for your files and return the signed blue and green
copies to us in the enclosed, self-addressed envelope.
Your early attention to this matter would be appreciated.

Thank you for the information provided in our discussions concerning the bulkhead permit
processing for my lot at River Bluffs, Craven County. I have enclosed the applicable
information you suggested along with the copies of no objection secured from the adjacent
property owners.
I appreciate your offer to meet with my contractor, D.K.Slade, to ascertain any additional
details that may be required. I have alerted him to the fact you may be contacting him to
arrange a meeting on site. Although I may not be able to be present, I have asked him to
let me know when the meeting will be scheduled in event I am able to attend.
Please let me know if any additional information is needed to make the permit application.
