Please be assured that this is not an appraisal but, my opinion of the value of the sixteen pilings
located within the: White Oak River at the end of Moore Street and behind Gene Blanton's
building known as Swansboro Dock.
l- Sixteen pilings
2- Forty 11uot long (per Michael Jones)
3- Butt ends are approximately 16"
4- Per Michael Jones, Gene BIanton (owner of Swansboro Dock building) pilings have
been installed about six years ago. No documentation subWtted to verify this.
5- Gene?-)l lift, span for this size piling under local conditions is approximately 30 years
Confirmed iiitis fact with T.D. Eure of Morehead City, Foley & Foley of New Bern,
and Clccansidc Engineering of Emerald Isle,
6- Cr»t cif nev 13"-16" butt end pilings with installation a ) T.D. Eure $675
b) Oceanside Eng. $900
c) Foley & Foley $1000
Average: $858 each
7- Using thy: average cost of pilings and installation
16 pilings @ $858 each = $13,728
8- Depreciation factor - 20% 6 years in water 30 year lifetime
C urrcnt value after depreciation of sixteen pilings 40' long with 13" - 16" butt is:
S 10 t)ti ; plus mobilization of equipment from Morehead City to Swansboro $3000

Re: "Port of Swansboro" located at Swansboro Waterfront - Gene Blanton, owner
After reviewing the evaluation submitted by Bobby Bright of Shellfish 2000 Marine
Construction Division for "Port of Swansboro, I feel that less than 50% repair will
be made to the existing dockage based o d figures given for the
pilings. The current value of the pill s is $17,247.06. `
We have no reason to doubt the value mitted by the contractor.
