been obtained from adjacent riparian landowners certifying that they
have no objections to the proposed work.
In issuing this permit the State of North Carolina certifies that this project
is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

Attached is General Permit #C-26912 to install a pier, dock, and a boathouse in the Carteret
County area adjacent to Piney Creek off of Archer's Creek at 7025 Archer's Creek Drive in
Emerald Isle .

copy for your files and return the yellow and pink signed copies to us in the enclosed, self-
addressed envelope.

e Comments: TERE, THANKS FOR MEETING ME ON FRIDAY TO DISCUSS STEPS I
NEEDED TO TAKE TO GET A PIERIBOATHOUSE PERMIT. I HAVE ATTACHED THE TWO
ADJACENT RIPARIAN STAEMENTS FROM THE PROPERTY OWNERS REFLECTING THE
BOAT HOUSE AND PIER. I ALSO CHECKED THE BOUNDARY WIDTH OF THE PROPERTY AND
NOTED IT ON THE SAME.
THERE IS ANOTHER ISSUE THAT I NEED TO DISCUSS WITH YOU. THE SAME PROPERTY
HAS TWO LOW AREAS ON EACH SIDE OF THE DRIVEWAY ENTERING THE PROPERTY I
HAVE APPROACHED THE TOWN OF EMERALD ISLE ABOUT WHAT STEPS I NEED TO TAKE
TO FILL THESE AREAS. I WAS FIRST TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO SET AN APPOINTMENT WITH
A TOWN INSPECTOR TO DO A SITE VISIT, TO HAVE A GRADING CONTRACTOR TO MAKE A
SITE VISIT AND DETERMINE THE QUANTITY OF FILL, AND AFTER THAT THEY COULD ISSUE
A PERMIT. I HAD DONE ALL OF THE ABOVE AND WENT IN FRIDAY TO PURCHASE THE
PERMIT AND WAS TOLD AT THAT TIME THAT 1 WOULD NEED TO GET A CAMA DUNES AND
VEGITATION PERMIT. HAD I KNOWN THAT ! WOULD HAVE TAKEN STEPS TO GET THE
ADJOINING PROPERTY OWNER STATEMENTS OMPLETED ( THE TOWN SAYS I WILL NEED
THESE) AND SUBMITTED ALONG WITH THE IERBOATHOUSE PERMIT. AT ANY RATE
THE GRADING CONTRACTOR SAYS 12 LOADS FILL WILL DO THE JOB. IT IS MY HOPE TO
JUST BRING THE LOW AREAS UP TO GRADE, SO AS TO NOT HOLD WATER AND AT THE
SAME TIME NOT DIVERT ANY WATER TO THE ADJOINING NEIHBORS PROPERTY.
CURRENTLY IN RAINY CONDITIONS THE AREA IS HOLDING APPROXIMATELY ONE FOOT OF
WATER AND IS CAUSING A MOSQUITO ,,PROBLEM. THE TWO ADJACENT PROPERTY
OWNERS HAVE ALREADY FILLED THEIR PROPERTY. IT SEEMS THAT THE TOWN MUST
HAVE SOME JURISDICTION OVER THE MA ER SINCE THEY WERE GOING TO ISSUE THE
PERMIT.
SO, WITH ALL THAT, CAN YOU ADVISE ME OF WHAT STEPS (IF ANY) I NEED TO TAKE WITH
YOUR OFFICE TO ACCOMPLISH THIS TASK. YOUR HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!11!!1!!
