Dear Mr. Long:
The Division has reviewed your source test report that was received by our Central Office
on 1 July 2019. There was one report from the 40 CFR Part 63 Subpart ZZZZ and NSPS
Subpart JJJJ (CO,NOx, and VOC) source testing of four-stroke lean-burn natural gas-fired
emergency generator (ES ID No. EG01), which was conducted on 8 May 2019. On 15 July
2019, this Division determined that the subject testing performed at your facility was an
acceptable source test. The review determined that compliance with the applicable emission
standard is indicated for this source. A copy of the determination memorandum, issued by
Mr. Brent Hall, of the N.C. Division of Air Quality, Stationary Source Compliance Branch, is
attached.
Should you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact Mr. Jeffrey Cole,
Environmental Engineer, or myself, at(910) 433-3300, in the Fayetteville Regional Office.
Sincerely,
Heather S. Carter

Nitrogen Oxides, Carbon Monoxide, and Volatile Organic Compounds
Emissions Testing of Natural Gas-Fired Spark Ignition(SI)Emergency Generator EGO
By Mostardi Platt,May 8,2019
DAQ Tracking No. 2019-093ST
Mostardi Platt performed EPA Method 320 for nitrogen oxides (NO.), carbon monoxide(CO), and
volatile organic compounds(VOC)emissions from emergency generator EGO1. The emissions test
results demonstrate compliance with the applicable regulations.
EGO is a four-stroke lean burn natural gas-fired emergency generator rated at a maximum 880
horsepower(hp) or 600 kW. 40 CFR 60 Subpart JJJJ Standards of Performance for Stationary Spark
Ignition Internal Combustion Engines and 40 CFR 63 Subpart ZZZZ National Emission Standards for
Hazardous Air Pollutants for Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engines(RICE) applies. 60 Subpart
JJJJ establishes NO., CO,and VOC limits in parts per million by volume dry corrected to 15%oxygen
(ppmvd@l5%02). Table 1 from 60 Subpart JJJJ specifies the limits for emergency engines>130 hp.
The emissions test results and limits are shown in the following table.
Pollutant Test Result Emission Limit Regulation Com liance
NO,: 145.4 mvd 15%02 160 mvd 15%Oz 60 Subpart
CO 163.1 mvd 15%02 540 mvd 15%02 ME Yes
VOC as CsHB 10.1 mvd 15%02 86 mvd 15%M
VOC is non-methane organic compounds
The generator is rated at 600 kW maximum. During testing the generator averaged 572 kW, or 95%of
maximum. The test results demonstrate compliance with the applicable regulations. If there are any
questions regarding this review, please contact me at(919)707-8427 or Brent.Hall@ncdem.gov.
