Emissions Testing of Natural Gas-Fired Spark Ignition(SI)Emergency Generator EGO
By Mostardi Platt,May 8,2019
DAQ Tracking No. 2019-093ST
Mostardi Platt performed EPA Method 320 for nitrogen oxides(NOX), carbon monoxide(CO),and
volatile organic compounds(VOC)emissions from emergency generator EGO1. The emissions test
results demonstrate compliance with the applicable regulations.
EGO is a four-stroke lean burn natural gas-fired emergency generator rated at a maximum 880
horsepower(hp)or 600 kW. 40 CFR 60 Subpart JJJJ Standards of Performance for Stationary Spark
Ignition Internal Combustion Engines and 40 CFR 63 Subpart ZZZZ National Emission Standards for
Hazardous Air Pollutants for Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engines(RICE)applies. 60 Subpart
JJJJ establishes NO., CO, and VOC limits in parts per million by volume dry corrected to 15%oxygen
(ppmvd@15%02). Table 1 from 60 Subpart JJJJ specifies the limits for emergency engines>130 hp.
The emissions test results and limits are shown in the following table.
Pollutant Test Result Emission Limit Regulation Compliance

The generator is rated at 600 kW maximum. During testing the generator averaged 572 kW, or 95%of
maximum. The test results demonstrate compliance with the applicable regulations. If there are any
