Dear Ms. Carter,
This letter is to inform you of a malfunction that occurred with the non-condensable venturi (C-1)
at Valley Proteins Wadesboro Division. During a routine site inspection on February 27, 2020, it
was discovered that the fan had failed on the venturi. A replacement is currently being located.
Until the fan is replaced, non-condensable odors are being treated in the crossflow scrubber (C-
8).
We are not aware of any excess emissions during this event and have not received any odor
complaints.
