March 19, 2020 Ms. Heather Carter, Regional Air Quality Supervisor RIECE�VED NC Division of Air Quality 225 Greene Street, Suite 714 Fayetteville, NC 28301-5043 MAR Subject: Valley Proteins Inc. -Wadesboro WSW dlAtraustity Air Permit No. 06467T20 Fayetteville Re®ionat Otfia Facility ID No. 0400034 Wadesboro, Anson County, NC Dear Ms. Carter: Please accept this letter in response to the Compliance Additional Information Request received from your office, dated March 6, 2020. 1) The last recorded inspection of the C-1 Venturi occurred at 7 PM on February 26, 2020, per the email submitted to DAQ on March 2, 2020. The Venturi inlet water pressure was found to be within the permitted range. There are no operating parameters regarding a fan in the air permit and this fan is not an integral part of the Venturi scrubber. 2) The Venturi fan was found not operating at 7 PM on February 26, 2020, and airflow was redirected to the C-8 crossflow scrubber at that time. 3) Based on the Limits and Standards Summary Table at the beginning of Section 2.1, Part B of the subject Air Quality Permit, estimated emissions for PM are based on the formula therein. In lieu of calculating emissions, monthly inspections are performed on air pollution control devices pursuant to Condition 2.1.6.1.c and that documentation is maintained in a logbook and made available to DAQ authorized representatives upon request, pursuant to Condition 2.1.B.1.d. We have reason to believe that odors were treated in an equally effective manner pursuant to the letter submitted by AC Corporation on March 5, 2020.
