Dear Ms. Carter:
Please accept this letter in response to the Compliance Additional Information Request received
from your office, dated March 6, 2020.
1) The last recorded inspection of the C-1 Venturi occurred at 7 PM on February 26, 2020, per
the email submitted to DAQ on March 2, 2020. The Venturi inlet water pressure was found
to be within the permitted range. There are no operating parameters regarding a fan in the
air permit and this fan is not an integral part of the Venturi scrubber.
2) The Venturi fan was found not operating at 7 PM on February 26, 2020, and airflow was
redirected to the C-8 crossflow scrubber at that time.
3) Based on the Limits and Standards Summary Table at the beginning of Section 2.1, Part B
of the subject Air Quality Permit, estimated emissions for PM are based on the formula
therein. In lieu of calculating emissions, monthly inspections are performed on air pollution
control devices pursuant to Condition 2.1.6.1.c and that documentation is maintained in a
logbook and made available to DAQ authorized representatives upon request, pursuant to
Condition 2.1.B.1.d. Daily visible emissions evaluations were made during the time that the
fan was inoperable and all were found to be normal.
4) See item 3 above.

With respect to odors, no odor complaints were received from the public during the time that the
fan was inoperable and no odors were detected on the premises. We have reason to believe
that odors were treated in an equally effective manner pursuant to the letter submitted by AC
Corporation on March 5, 2020.
If you have any further questions, please let me know.
