Emissions Testing of Two Dual Chamber Hospital,Medical, and Infectious
Waste Incinerators ESO1 and ES02 by TRC Environmental on April 6 and 7, 2021

TRC Environmental Inc. (TRC)performed EPA Method 5 for particulate matter(PM), EPA Method 29
for metals cadmium(Cd), lead(Pb), and mercury(Hg), EPA Method 26A for hydrogen chloride(HCl),
and EPA Method 9 for visible emissions (VE) from hospital,medical, and infectious waste incinerators
(HMIWI)ES-01 and ES-02. The emissions test results demonstrate compliance with the applicable
regulations.
ESO1 and ES02 are two natural gas-fired dual-chamber HMIWI, each controlled with one selective non-
catalytic reduction(SNCR) system(CD07 and CD08)in series with one packed bed scrubber
(CDO1 and CD02), in series with one venturi scrubber(CD03 and CD04)in series with one impregnated
carbon bed(CD05 and CD06). 15A NCAC 2D .1100 Control of Toxic Air Pollutants, 15A NCAC 2D
.1206 Hospital, Medical and Infectious Waste Incinerators, and 40 CFR 62 Subpart HHH Federal Plan
Requirements for Hospital/Medical/Infectious Incinerators Constructed on or Before June 20, 1996
apply. The emissions test results are shown in the tables below in units of milligram per dry standard
cubic meter(mg/dscm), grains per dry standard cubic foot(gr/dscf), grains per one thousand dry standard
cubic foot(gr/103 dscf),parts per million by volume(ppmv), and percent(%) opacity. All concentrations
are corrected to 7%oxygen.

ESO1 averaged 1711 lb/hr(92%of maximum) charge rate and ES02 averaged 1718 lb/hr(92%of
maximum) charge rate during testing and these charge rates are acceptable. The emissions test results
