Dear Mr. Kreidler:
Air Permit No. 03981R15 was issued to Bassett Upholstery Division, Newton, Catawba County
North Carolina on August 10, 2016, with an effective date of August 10, 2016. Specific Condition and
Limitation No. A.15 of said permit states in part:
"Reporting Requirements - Within 30 days after each calendar year, regardless of the actual
emissions, the Permittee shall submit the following:
i. emissions and/or operational data listed below. The data should include monthly and 12-
month totals for the previous 12-month period.
A. The type and amount of fuel combusted in the boilers (ID Nos. ES-B-2 and ES-B-3).
B. The facility-wide sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, VOC, highest
individual HAP, and total HAP emissions."
The report due on January 30, 2022 has not yet been received by this office. Therefore, this
Notice of Deficiency is issued to Bassett Upholstery Division for failure to submit the required report
within the required timeframe in violation of Air Permit No. 03981R15, Specific Condition and
Limitation No. A.15.

It is requested that a written response to this Notice of Deficiency be submitted to this office
as soon as possible, but no later than ten days following receipt of this notice. Your response should
include the reference report and describe any corrective actions that have been taken by the company to
assure compliance with the referenced permit condition at all times.
It should be noted that additional documented deficiencies could result in a Notice of Violation by
this office.
