Subject: Corrective Action Notification – EW-26E
East Carolina Regional Solid Waste Landfill – Aulander, North Carolina
Dear Mr. Watson:
Republic Services of North Carolina, LLC (Republic) hereby submits this notification of landfill gas wellhead
temperature corrective actions at the East Carolina Regional Solid Waste Landfill (Title V Permit #08849T08) in
Aulander, North Carolina in accordance with Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 62.16724(k)(2).
Corrective actions for wellhead temperature are required at well EW-26E according to 40 CFR 62.16720(a)(4).
These corrective actions will require more than 60 days but are not expected to take longer than 120 days to be
completed after the initial monitoring exceedance pursuant to 40 CFR 62.16720(a)(4)(ii). As such, applicable
information regarding these corrective actions will be reported pursuant to 40 CFR 62.16724(h). Please note
that the subject facility is also subject to the wellhead operational standards of 40 CFR 63.1958. The Facility
submitted a Request for Higher Operating Value for this well to the EPA on October 6, 2023.
