 Calculations and control efficiencies appear correct. Emission factors are the best available and most current factors
appropriate for the reporting facility (e.g. stack testing, AP-42, etc.).

DAQ's Comments Regarding Inventory
~45% increase in all criteria pollutants, and Many HAP/TAP is due to a ~45% increase in overall production, more specifically
to a ~45% increase in throughput (182,535 tpy to 264,299 tpy) for Kiln 3, OS5.
Revisions:
Ammonia, Acetaldehyde and Acrolein were all removed from Kiln 3, OS5, due to a data entry error.

Jeff,

Acetaldehyde and Acrolein for Kiln 3 can also be removed from AERO as they also inadvertently got
put into the Brick portion of our calculations with an Emission Factor for Fuel Combustion in the
wrong units. Therefore, our Calculation Details that were attached to our submission are correct.
Ammonia, Acetaldehyde and Acrolein should all be removed from AERO Source I.D K-3.

I apologize about the error and will make a note for our next submission, thank you for your
assistance!

What about the Acetaldehyde and Acrolein for Kiln 3?
The emissions are very small, but were not present in previous years, and don’t show up in the calcs

Jeff,

After reviewing the Merry Oaks Air Emission Inventory Workbook and the AERO submission, it
appears Ammonia (NH3) inadvertently got put into the Brick portion of our calculations with an
Emission Factor for Fuel Combustion in the wrong units. There is no Ammonia in AP-42 Section 11.3
Brick and Structural Clay Products. Therefore, our Calculation Details that were attached to our
submission are correct and Ammonia should be removed from AERO Source I.D K-3.

I also confirmed that K-1 does not produce bricks, but they do run fuel creating fuel combustion
emissions as we discussed on the phone.
