HomeMy WebLinkAboutAQ_F_1000127_20220111_ST_RvwMemo DIVISION OF AIR QUALITY January 11,2022 MEMORANDUM To: Brad Newland,P.E.,Wilmington Regional Office From: Taylor Fort, Stationary Source Compliance Branch(SSCB) Subject: Chuck's Construction Mine Calabash,Brunswick County,NC Facility ID 1000127,Air Permit No. 10643G0I Visible Emissions Testing of Trench Burner ACI Conducted September 20, 2021 by Michael Hardee and Scott Sanders DAQ Tracking No. 2021-276ST EPA Method 9 testing for visible emissions(VE)was conducted on September 20, 2021 for the following source.ACI is a portable air curtain incinerator listed in the permit as a McPherson M30G Trench Burner (8 tons per hour firing capacity)that commenced construction after December 9,2004. The emissions test results demonstrate compliance with the applicable regulations. 15A NCAC 2D .1904 Air Curtain Incinerators and 40 CFR Part 60 Subpart EEEE Standards of Performance for Other Solid Waste Incineration Units for Which Construction is Commenced After December 9, 2004, or for Which Modification or Reconstruction is Commenced on or After June 16, 2006 apply and limit VE to no more than 10%opacity per six-minute average.All six-minute averages during testing were below 10 percent opacity. ACI was operating at 95%capacity during testing. Representative testing is considered to be greater than approximately 90%of maximum normal. The test conditions are acceptable. The test results indicate compliance with applicable regulations. Subsequent annual opacity testing is required no more than 12 calendar months following the date of the previous test.
