Dear Mr. Ray:
Air Permit No. 06457R06, issued to Kontane, Inc. will expire on January 31, 2022. On
July 22, 2021 an air permit renewal reminder letter was sent to Kontane, Inc. The air permit
renewal request, including an emission inventory, was due to this office no later than November
2,2021. .To date,the renewal request has not been received and the emission inventory
submission is not complete.
This letter serves as a Notice of Deficiency for failure to submit the air permit renewal
request by the due date. Please respond in writing to the Asheville Regional Office by no
later than.December 31,2021,with a complete air permit renewal request. The response
should also include documentation necessary to complete the air emission inventory submission,
and a written.description of steps that you plan to take or have taken to assure future letters are
submitted by the require&date. Violations of your air permit or any air quality rule are subject
to the assessment of civil penalties per North Carolina General Statute 143-215.114A.
