Hall, Stationary Source Compliance Branch(SSCB)53WX Subject: Regulator Marine,Inc. Edenton, Chowan County,North Carolina Facility ID 21-00073,Air Permit No. 07132T13 Carbon Monoxide Emissions Testing of Diesel-Fired Peak Shaving Generator ES-14 By Integrity Air Monitoring, Inc. on October 19,2021 DAQ Tracking No. 2021-240ST Integrity Air Monitoring,Inc. (Integrity)performed EPA Method 10 for carbon monoxide(CO) emissions from reciprocating internal combustion engine (RICE)ES-14. The emissions test results demonstrate compliance with the applicable regulations as discussed below. ES-14 is a diesel-fired peak shaving generator controlled by diesel oxidation catalyst CD-I4. The generator is rated at 764 horsepower(569 kilowatts)maximum capacity. 40 CFR 63 Subpart ZZZZ National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants for Stationary Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engines applies and specifies CO emissions shall be reduced by 70%or more using an oxidation catalyst or no more than 23parts per million by volume corrected to 15%oxygen (ppmvd@15%02). Permit condition 2.1.C.3 states the temperature of the catalyst inlet should be maintained at>450 OF and<1350 OF. The pressure drop across the catalyst should be maintained±10% from the pressure drop that was measured during the most recent performance test. Sampling was performed at the inlet and outlet of the catalyst. The emissions test results reported in units of parts per million by volume corrected to 15%oxygen(ppmvd@15%02)are shown below. Source CO mvd 15%02 Reduction Efficiency Regulation Compliance Inlet Outlet Result Re uired 63 Subpart ES-I4 36.6 0.856 97.7% >70% ZZZZ Yes The average temperature during testing was 754 OF and the average differential pressure across the catalyst was 7.92 in. H2O. The engine is rated at 569 kW but the unit averaged 269 kW during testing. The emissions test results are acceptable for the 269 kW load. However,if the engine is operated at loads above 269 kW,additional testing may be required to demonstrate compliance.
