Submission type: AERO 19 Paper ❑ If Paper, initials of person entering emissions data into ED Inventory Review/IBEAM Data Entry Y N` All forms appear complete and signed by the appropriate official. Supporting calculations, control efficiencies, and documentation of emission factors, if not using AP-42, are included and appear correct. Pertinent compliance and permitting limits checked and facility is at or below limits (If facility has exceeded limit, check calculation and explain). All permitted and known insignificant sources are included and source and control device IDs are the same as the Ids used in the Air Permit. All known operating scenarios, control devices, and emission release points have been entered for each source. For any pollutant, all emissions have been reported for all permitted and insignificant sources that contribute to the facility total (above de minimus reporting limits) of that pollutant to the best of reviewers knowledge. All volatile HAPS/TAPS included in VOC total. (See pollutant list on DAQ external web page) Significant changes (>10%)from previous inventories have been investigated and found acceptable (verified by running QAQC report and Facility Total report in ED-Entry). Print Facility total report and attach. ✓ Reviewer has checked for facility comments and addressed any issues in the facility comments. Reviewer has checked for SCCI source type accuracy and corrected errors when found. Location: Moncure,NC - Facility ID 0 1900009 Brick Processing System-Cape Fear Description: After the wet clay is formed and coated it passes through the brick dryer and the kiln. The kiln`is sawdust fired. Combustion products and heat generated by the kiln are vented to the drum dryer which dries the sawdust. From the drum dryer the exhaust is vented to the atmosphere. However, not all of the heat from the kiln is vented to the wood dryer. Instead, some evaporative heat is routed to the brick dryers and vented to atmosphere. Approach: The AP42 Section 11.3 is used to estimate the emissions from these emission units, except for fluoride and hydrogen fluoride factors developed from a GSB test at Monctue. Parameter Value Actual Brick Production 6,937 tpy Actual Sawdust Usage 2,710 tpy EMISSION CALCULATIONS Emissions are calculated by the following equation: Yearly Emissions - Emission Factor(lb/tons brick) Brick Production(tpy)=Emissions(lb/yr) - Emissions(16/yr)/2000 lb/ton=Emissions(tpy) -- Note:The Formaldehyde emissions are multiplied by the wood usage instead of bricks usage. A brick manufacturing plant is not one of the 26 categories of sources in.the list in the Major Source definition that is required to quantify emissions for applicability purposes. In accordance with DAQ Rule 15A NCAC 2Q .0202 (1), GSB has not calculated the fugitive emissions from the sources listed below. 2. The sources listed below are fugitive emission sources defined in the,Title V regulations. Fugitive emissions are defined in the Title V rules (15A NCAC 2Q .0503 (6) as "those emissions which could reasonably pass through a stack, chimney, vent, or other functionally-equivalent opening". GSB has determined that the sources identified below meet the requirements of the fugitive emissions definition. List of Fugitive Emission Sources - 1. Open clay storage piles 2. Clay mining operations 3. Unpaved roads 4. Wet wood receiving, non-pneumatic conveying, and storage operations 5. One open limestone pile and two open cinder piles and transportation from truck to piles 6. Coal hopper and coal pile .6/27/2013,FUG-EI-Monc.doc Page 36 of 36 APPENDIX A TANKS 4.09 CALCULATIONS i General Shale Brick, Inc. -Moncure, NC Facility I CY 2012 Emissions Inventory Trinity Consultants TANKS 4.0:9d Emissions Report - Detail Format Tank Indentification and Physical Characteristics Identification User Identification: Waste Oil-Moncure City: Moncure State: North Carolina Company: General Shale Brick, Inc.
