The emission factor that Perdue uses for poultry conveyance and loadout is high(AP-42 grain),but there are no other factors I know of to apply. The meal is moist,so there should be very low to negligible emissions I made significant changes to the structure of the data All of the meal silo bagfilters were grouped together. The cookers, evaporators and press were grouped together. The receiving and handling bagfilters were grouped I had to clean up the stack data and control device systems Links in the OS to control systems and stacks were also corrected I had Perdue go back and look at stack parameters to make sure all was correct(it appeared that they might not have updated data when new venturi and packed scrubbers were installed. 07/29/2011 Page 4 of 4 Huddleston, Betsy From: Baggett, Joey [Joey.Baggett@Perdue.coml Sent: Thursday, September 22, 2011 3:18 PM To: Huddleston, Betsy Subject: Annual Emissons Inventory Question„ I have entered AERO and made the changes to the Anaerobic pond methane calculations. If you use ten percent efficiency the TSP would go from 11567.04 lbs. to 1,285.23 lbs. The .27 is a soybean meal factor, this is the one that maybe should be less . The WW methane comes from a earl gallons effluent number and the amount of COD per pound. This was done in yearly p 2009.The AERO format would not let me change it at all. From: Huddleston, Betsy [mailto:betsy.huddleston@ncdenr.govl Sent: Tuesday, July 19, 2011 3:58 PM To: Baggett, Joey Subject: Poultry meal loadout The poultry meal loadout uses an emission factor of 0.27 lb/ton. The control efficiency is listed a 0.9. 1 assume you mean 90%control due to the meal being moist and little loss? If so,the control efficiency should be 0.1 in the column. There are several data items that I need you to look at and confirm or correct: 1. What is the estimated control efficiency of the venturi, crossflow scrubber and packed tower scrubber combination for VOC from the process being collected? My estimate is 80%? 2. Please check the following stack parameters(flows seem low or don't jive when you try to calculate-want to re- verify): 80 percent for the packed tower S02 , 94 percent for PM,46 percent for PM in the crossflow& 80 percent Pm for the venturi a. Crossflow scrubber-62.5 ft high, (5 ft. diameter) 1.18 ft diameter, 93 degrees, velocity 43.3, ( 118,200 acfm ) 2841.14 acfm b. Backup boiler-1764 acfm, 6.5 ft/s ? c. ES-4 and 5, 19.1 ft/s, 3600 acfm ? d. Packed scrubber-50 ft high, (2.167 ft diameter) 3.9 ft diameter,490 temp, 6.48 ft/s, (48,000 acfm ) 4658 acfm , 37.2 ft/sec velocity e. Poultry meal conveyance 0.42 diameter, 59.5 ft/s,494.6 acfm , I could not find any numbers for these, but they are enclosed pneumatic lines I've made the following changes to the database that should help you when completing inventory next year: 1. The meal silos are all in one group. You can report their combined emission. 2. 1 grouped the meat and feather cookers, evaporators and presses in one group. 3. 1 reviewed the existing control device systems. I cleaned up the ones for the cookers/evap/presses, silos, rendering room air and rendering boilers.
