Dear Mr. Kraszeski:
The North Carolina Division of Air Quality (DAQ)received a complaint concerning open burning at
Atlantic Veneer Corporation on July 24, 2017. On July 25, 2017, DAQ staff, Tony Sabetti,
investigated the open burning complaint and determined that Atlantic Veneer Corporation had
operated an air curtain burner for disposal of pallets and facility generated wood waste.
Please be advised,that operating an air curtain burner for disposal of pallets and other facility
generated wood waste is a violation f g o DAQ open burning regulation, Air Curtain Burners 15A
NCAC 2D.1904 (b)(2), which states in part that; Only collected land clearing and yard waste
materials may be burned.

in North Carolina General Statute 143-215-114A.
