Dear Mr. Groves,
The Division of Air Quality(DAQ)has reviewed the subject reports(RATA) submitted by The
Capital Power Corporation in a letter dated June 20, 2017. The reports were submitted for the
Continuous Emission Monitoring System(CEMS) on Unit 1 and Unit 2, each consisting of three
Boilers with the common stack.
DAQ's review of the above-mentioned reports indicated that the relative accuracy values for the
NOX,SO2, CO CEMS and flow monitor on Unit 1 and Unit 2 are within the specifications given in
40 CFR 60 Appendix F, and therefore the test (RATA)results are acceptable.
Per discussion with Virginia Grace on May 10, 2017,please conduct the future RATAs in the units
of emission standards (lbs/hr and lbs/mmBtu).
The next annual RATA for the CEMS on Unit I and Unit 2 for the Part 60 purposes should be
conducted by June 30, 2018.
