Subject: Certification Report for Continuous Opacity Monitoring Systems (COMS)
New Opacity Monitor on Unit 1 at Cogentrix of Roxboro
Dear Mrs.Rose:
The Division of Air Quality (DAQ) has reviewed the subject report submitted by Cogentrix of
North Carolina,Inc.-Roxboro dated December 11,2001 and additional data submitted March 26,
2002. The certification tests for the subject monitor appears to be in accordance with 40 CFR 60,
Appendix B, Performance Specification 1 and are therefore acceptable.
This report indicates that the following Thermo Environmental, Inc. opacity monitors have been
certified for use on the following units at Cogentrix of Roxboro:
