Subject: Excess Emissions Report (EER) for the 3rd Quarter, 2000
Calibration Drift (CD) Test Results for the 3rd Quarter, 2000
Relative Accuracy Test Audit (RATA) Results for 3rd Quarter, 2000
Dear Mr. Baker:
The Division of Air Quality(DAQ) has reviewed the subject reports submitted
by Cogentrix of North Carolina, Inc. for Units No. 1 and No. 2.
The data in the EER indicates that the percent NOx excess emission was within
acceptable limits based on the EPA Region IV CEM Enforcement Policy (CEP) for the
3rd quarter of 2000. The opacity excess emissions and the Continuous Opacity Monitor
(COM) downtimes for Units No. 1 and No. 2 were also within acceptable limits for the
quarter.
The RATA and CD results indicate that the relative accuracy and calibration
drift values of your NO,/02 CEM system are within the specifications given in 40 CFR
60 Appendix F, and therefore indicate compliance.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (919) 715-0726.
Sincerely,
Richard R. Simpson
