currently not known,since the facility has not begun operations yet. NESHAP GACT 4Z may be
applicable at a later date).
1) Location
NC Department of Corrections is located at 552 Prison Camp Road, in Polkton,NC, Anson County.
Directions
From FRO,take Hwy 401 South to Wagram. Turn left at Old Wire Road (Hwy 144)and go approximately
11 V2 miles to Laurel Hill. Turn right onto US 74 West, continue through Rockingham on Bypass US 74
West, cross over the Pee Dee River, and enter Anson County. Go through Wadesboro, drive another 5
miles, and turn left onto Prison Camp Road, which will be about 1 mile after Boggan Cut Road. Continue
on Prison Camp Road; it'll make a sharp left after about.6 mile. Facility will be on the right hand side.
Safety Considerations: Safety shoes,safety glasses, and earplugs.Hardhat as needed.
2) Facility and Process Description
This facility is not yet in operation, but will manufacture and finish case goods (cabinets and counters)
within a woodworking operation. It is permitted under Air Permit No. 09932R00, effective from 20
August 2008 until 31 July 2013. Cindy Grimes conducted the last compliance inspection on 19 January
2010, verifying that that the facility remains inactive.
This facility will manufacture and finish case goods (cabinets and counters) in a woodworking operation
supported by a baghouse and three dry filter spray booths used to apply stains and sealants. The facility
also employs two natural gas and propane fired boilers (10.46 mmBTUs) and two diesel fired peak
shaving/emergency generators (1,750 kW). Wood waste will be sent to a wood chipper connected to the
baghouse.

3) Inspection Summary.(facility is not operating)
On 2 February 2011, I (Cindy Grimes, of DAQ FRO), verified with Ken Hart, Central Engineer at the
Raleigh headquarters of the NC Dept. of Correction, that this facility is still not in operation. With the
economy being as bad as it is,the starting up of the facility will not be occurring for some time.There is no
equipment in place, as of this date.
4) . Reporting Requirements
This facility is required to submit an annual report by 1 March each year, which includes the emissions ol�
VOCs (in lbs), largest single HAP (in lbs), and the total of all HAPs (in lbs). The latest report, show1110 no
emissions,was submitted on time (I I January 2010). The 1 March 2011 report had not been submitted yet as
of this report date.
5) 112R Status
This facility does not use or store chemical compounds requiring a written risk management plan under the
Clean Air Act, Section 112R.
6) DAQ Compliance History
This facility has not begun operations yet, therefore has no history.
7) Comments and Compliance Statement
This facility has not begun operations as of this time; NCDOC Lanesboro Case Goods Plant appeared to
be in compliance on 2 February 2011.
