4) Process Description,
Raw materials such as'sand,cement,and grawt are delivered on site.They are then processed and
dried khrouglr.the rotarydrum dryer;thensorted in designated silos. Thee are 4 separate filling fines
at this'facility,and include 1) Sand life,2) Quikrete cement line, 3)Bulk line for 3,000 lb totes of
grout.or mortar,-and 4)Rock line for'Iz inch marble or gravot bags.After bags are filled,,they are,
tompora'rily storod in,tbe tacrtrty's warehouse and/or delivered to the customer, Lowe,$is,a major
,'client of Quikiete:,.
'5) iuspectipn Summary
a) Bag-filters. The facility was notoporµting-during rriyinspection it has been down Cor
several (lays,dnc to the elevator system being cotnpromiscd by the load weight because of
its age,'Wet Ling repairs and belt replacemepts were being done,'as I verified the time i was
there. lV[r. Goodloe said,that last-.nronth,the ctectil'tc nit dryer within the sand�ttansfeir
conveyor belts

b) Bagging lines: Gach bagging operationhas its own ling filter associated with it. f1r6'e.are
multiple product lines,but they are essentially tyre same in regard to emissions, The
eauipmeni appeared to be lit good working:order, Some of the piping has been replaced over
" the years in this 6rea duc to normal wear and tear.
e) LP'Gas-fired,Rotary Dryer: This dryer Handles sand or gravel: The input temperaturo
range for the sand is between 300-325 degrees F,and'for the gravel,225-250 degrees E The
d yer;was not operating-during roy,inspection,since the facilitywas down.,There is a-magna
