Complaint/Directions: On 18 October.2010,at approx 1515 et,-I, Steven Vozzo received a phoned complaint
from Melicia Dennis. Ms.Dennis has called over the years complaining of the air and water pollution emissions
from Wade Mfg in Wadesboro,NC,Anson County. She lived-on the mill hill to the-west of the plant from
1965 to 1091. She has severe lung disease issues. I have spoken with and met her in the past';I listened to her
concerns for 30 minutes. She does not keep track of who she talks withand at one point asked me which
agency I was with. She claims increase cancer risks and lung disease due to this textile mill, "Note that NC
DAQ looked into this 1997-FRO,RCO Toxics Protection Unit,and the Div of Bnv Health. ; All known air
pollution information was provided to her when we met her,at the Wadesboro Library; After listening to her
complaints',along with a few questions,I asked her what was it she wanted of State Govi; She stated she wanted
her disability starting back to 1991,and she wanted Wade Mfg`to stop polluting. I stated that for the last 10 yrs,
I was confident, especially due to reduce throughput,that the company was not emitting much. 'I said we could
not help with the disability issues. I did tell her that her claims-of illness from water pollutions'(old fishpond
with waste)and air pollution date back 20+years;her claims are more about Environmental Health and not
about pollution occurmg now,and that the Division of Env Hlth is who she needs to be talking with. With that,
