Subject: Notice of Murphy-Brown, LLC.—Bladenboro Feed Mill Violation and
Corrective Actions of Air Permit 081551109
Dear Mr. Vozzo:
First and foremost, Murphy-Brown LLC, takes all regulatory obligations very seriously
and regrets that we have failed to submit the bi-annual fuel usage report on-time as outlined in
Section A7.a of our air permit. The subject report has subsequently been submitted to Heather
Carter on August 18, 2014 and a copy attached.
Management here at the Bladenboro facility has recently changed and prior
management failed to develop the mechanisms that other Murphy-Brown facilities have
successfully utilized to maintain such recordkeeping and management reminders. I can assure
you that the bi-annual fuel usage report (Task ID code#4131203 BI ANN FUEL) along with all
other regulatory requirements have been entered into the reminder system.
In addition to the reminder system, Murphy-Brown LLC has modified its in-house annual
regulatory compliance audit by expediting the audit to within 3-months of a facility manager
change or within three weeks of awareness of an environmental violation. This program is
intended to provide operational oversight and ensure compliance of all environmental
responsibilities of Murphy-Brown LLC and it is our hopes that through these modifications

Murphy-Brown will be able to address gaps and awareness in a more timely fashion to avoid
future violations.
