Eliminator Requirements"

Dear Mr. Horne:
On May 26, 2015,Robert Hayden and Joshua Harris of the Fayetteville Regional Office
conducted a compliance inspection of Homwood, Inc., in Lilesville,NC. During that inspection they met
with Benny Burr,Environmental Manager, and Wayne Martin,Maintenance Supervisor. Many of the
required records were unavailable for inspection due to the absence of key personnel.
The following records,required by 15A NCAC 2D .0611 "Condenser/Mist Eliminator
Requirements,"in stipulation Al of your current air quality permit,were incomplete or unavailable
during the inspection:
1. Records of annual inspections and maintenance performed on each condenser;
2. Records of daily monitoring of the pressure drop across the Fiberglass Mist Eliminator
3. Records of daily monitoring of the pressure drop across the coils,and;
4. Records of the weekly weight of the oil and particulate collected in the Mist Eliminator.
You are requested to provide the above-listed documentation, for the months of April and May
_ 2015, to the Fayetteville Regional Office for review. Also, consider cross-training employees as to the
locations of records which are commonly requested during compliance inspections conducted by state
agencies. Please submit a written response to this office by June 15,2015. In addition to the requested
documents,the response should also contain steps that you plan to take or have taken to prevent situations
such as this in the future.
