MEMORANDUM
To: Steven Vozzo, Fayetteville Regional Office
From: Gregg O'Neal, P.E., Stationary Source Compliance Branch (SSCB)
Subject: Piedmont Natural Gas Company, Inc. —Wadesboro Compressor Station
Wadesboro, Anson County, North Carolina, Air Permit No. 10097T01
Facility ID 0400056, Tracking No. 2016-087ST
Nitrogen Oxides, Carbon Monoxide, and Volatile Organic Compounds
Emissions Testing of Natural Gas-Fired Spark Ignition (SI) Emergency Generator
Emission Source ID No. EG01
Performed May 12, 2016, by Air-Tech Environmental, LLC
Air-Tech Environmental performed EPA Methods 7E, 10, and 18/25A for nitrogen oxides (NOx),
carbon monoxide (CO), and volatile organic compounds (VOC) emissions, respectively. EG01
is a four-stroke lean burn natural gas-fired spark ignition lean burn emergency generators
engine (804 rated horsepower, 600 kW) manufactured new after July 1, 2010. SSCB has
reviewed the testing and the results are acceptable to demonstrate compliance with the
applicable standards. The engine was last tested May 21, 2013, and has not operated 8,760
hours since.
40 CFR 60 Subpart JJJJ Standards of Performance for Stationary Spark Ignition Internal
Combustion Engines and 40 CFR 63 Subpart ZZZZ National Emission Standards for Hazardous
Air Pollutants for Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engines(RICE)applies. 63 Subpart ZZZZ
requires that the facility meet the requirements of 60 Subpart JJJJ. 60 Subpart JJJJ establishes
NO, CO, and VOC limits in parts per million by volume dry corrected to 15% oxygen content
(ppmvd@l 5%02)or grams per horsepower-hour(g/hp-hr). The test results and emission limits
are listed in the following table.
