Peregrine Technical Services,LLC performed EPA Method 25A for determining total hydrocarbon
emissions ass propane on the MegTec Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer.The test results are acceptable and
demonstrate compliance with the required minimum destruction efficiency.
The emission sources are propane-fired laminator ESO1 and mixing room ES02 controlled by
propane-fired regenerative thermal oxidizer CDOL The maximum permitted operating rate is 90 gallons
per hour coating.
15A NCAC 2D .1100 Control of Toxic Air Pollutants applies to ESO1 and ES02 and limits the emissions
of methyl ethyl ketone,toluene, ammonia, and ethyl acetate. 15A NCAC 2D .1112 Case by Case
Maximum Achievable Control Technology(MALT)also applies. In accordance with 2D .1112,the permit
requires a minimum of 98%destruction efficiency and limits toluene emissions to 6.59 pounds per hour
(28.89 tons per year)and total hazardous air pollutants to 8.97 pounds per hour(39.29 tons per year).
Testing was performed at the inlet and outlet of the thermal oxidizer to determine destruction efficiency.
The emissions test results are shown in the table below.
