NOTICE OF A CITIZENS INFORMATIONAL WORKSHOP FOR THE PROPOSED
REPLACEMENT OF BRIDGE NO. 40 ON
US 70 BUSINESS OVER THE NEUSE RIVER
TIP Project No. B-3864
Johnston County
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will hold the above
Citizens Informational Workshop on Monday, June 22, 2009, between the hours of 5:00
PM and 7:00 PM on the campus of Johnston Community College in the Tart Building -
Room 108 located at 245 College Road, Smithfield, 27577.
NCDOT proposes to replace Bridge No. 40 on US 70 Business over the Neuse
River. The purpose of this project is to replace the bridge. Current TIP right of way is
scheduled for 2011, with construction anticipated to begin in 2012.
Citizens are invited to speak individually with NCDOT officials and to review the
project area map. Aerial mapping denoting the project area will be displayed.
Comments and suggestions received will be considered during the planning process.
There will be no formal presentation.
